His hands that gave us till it’s very last drop of blood, know not how to take blessings away
Dr. Owen Roberts began his sermon during a village church dedication with these precious words, "God is so good, He never does evil."
He knows not how to do evil”.
Seeing the goodness of our great God who does not do evil to His children is so beautiful.
When something bad happens, we do not confess that God is evil, but think that he is the cause of it. I received two questions from a friend who is a strong believer and attends a Word-based church,
1. If Abel's sacrifice was accepted, but Cain's sacrifice was rejected, why did God allow Cain to kill Abel?
2. It was God who testified that no one on earth was as blameless and upright as Job, a man who feared God and avoided evil like no other. Why did God not save his 7 sons and 3 daughters when they died?
It is clear from these subtle thoughts that you believe God is evil in some way. In our time of trouble, our unconscious mind imagines God as someone who leaves us behind. Let me rub one verse out of your mind today:
And he said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Job 1:21
The verse sounds nice and true. This was neither uttered by Job nor by Jesus in any way, so it may be worth analysing.
There is no doubt that the Lord has given, but does the Lord really take away as well? There are those who argue that because the Bible says it, it is true. I agree that it is in the Bible, but Job is the one who spoke it, not God. There is a partial truth in this verse that The Lord gives.
There is no truth to the statement that The Lord has taken away.
Only once did God take away and then give - when He took out (removed) a rib from Adam and gave him Eve as a suitable helper (wife). It is not possible for God to bless His children and then take away from them.
In the story of Job, we know that God and Satan had a conversation about Job, although Job didn't know that satan took his children and possessions away from him.
Everything he lost seemed natural at the time, but it all happened at once. Whenever you are experiencing bad things one after another, don't treat them naturally. Try not to cope with it in the natural world or treat it naturally. These things are spiritual and needs to be dealt spiritually.
There is a spiritual force behind this. We who fight the good fight of faith need to discern things well.
While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
Job 1:16
It is clear from the above verse that the servant described thunder and lightning as fire from God. It was this that led Job to believe it was all God's doing. Even back then, people believed it was God behind everything.
As a result, God appears as if he is engrossed in devouring the blessings.
The love He has lavished upon His children is unfathomable.
We see in the last verse that Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
Yes, Job didn't complain or ask God why.
Job's claim that God took away his possessions was not entirely right.
It was Satan who devoured Job's possessions.
This verse has made many Christians believe that it is all The Lord’s doing. It is necessary to unlearn the truth that has been learned incorrectly. Otherwise, it can make you complacent and prevent you from exercising your authority in Christ. Having the wrong understanding of a truth can lead to the wrong outcomes.
Some have done great ministry for Christ yet have lost their child or have their child sick unto death. That’s why the truth should be known in the correct way. When we have a distorted view of God, we wind up with the wrong destinations, failures, and losses. Know full well that our God gives, gives, gives, keeps giving and will always keep giving.
His hands are the only hands that gave us freely till it’s very last drop of pure and Holy blood.
He does not know to take away His blessings from you or take you home before your time.
We saw Job’s statement earlier but let us now see Jesus Christ’s statement in John 10:10,
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
This proves that God gives and Satan takes away.
James 1:17 says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
The verse says that the father of light who gives, has no variation. There is another light- the sun which rises up and sets down in 12 hours. This light will suddenly appear and then disappear, leaving you completely in the dark.
Don't let darkness deter you from coming to the God of light, who has no shadow of turning.
God doesn't beat you up and then embrace you. Every time you reflect on what He did on the cross, remember that He did it out of love for you.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
We have all heard the saying that if we desire something too much, God will take it from us.
People say God ruined their shirts because they loved them too much. Some believe God took their only child home because they loved him/her too much. We have been warned to not like anything. Is it possible for God to clothe a child well and destroy fine clothing at the same time? Or how could God bless you with the fruit of the womb only to destroy it later on? God does not turn back and He does not take away. Our God always embraces and never turns His back on us.
