KNOWING THE ENEMY

Updated: Nov 24

Nailed the enemy’s forehead

The purpose of this chapter is to help us gain a better understanding of our enemy. I received a call from a foreign sister who told me that my sermons were a blessing to her. She said that God revealed to her that she had a special power to nail the devil's head. The sister continued talking, but this thought stuck in my head because it was something I had never encountered before. It became clear to me that the sister referred to the book of Judges when she spoke.

21 Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went down into the ground; for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Judges 4:21

We understand that people talk from Jeremiah if they preach about - plucking. Destroying, rebuilding, planting. When they say, "I have said what I needed to say, your sacrifice of blood is not on me", they are probably quoting Ezekiel.

Clearly, the sister might have read this chapter earlier and received the Word that gave her authority to nail the devil's head with a peg. Some will claim they were given a golden sword by God in a vision. They speak about many anointing like - the anointing to burn, the anointing to pluck, the anointing to cut, etc. I am not fully aware about these but one thing I know is from Mark 16:17.

17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

The basic authority and power to drive out demons and devils belong to those who believe (believers). That is the reason Jesus said, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (Luke 10:19). It is important for you to understand where God placed the enemy. Don't give him power and a place on top of your head. There are some who believe that only people with great gifts can drive devils out. In that case, you have the same gift. Certainly, there are many different callings. In this case, I'm referring to the signs that follow a believer and the authority you've been granted by God. Devil - our enemy - is subject to our authority.

Jesus Christ was the only one who nailed the devil's head - it was a death blow that crushed his head. In my opinion, the devil was never able to rise again after that. Only our hero Jesus Christ did that.

We read in Genesis 3:1 that the serpent was craftier than any of the wild animals the Lord God has made. According to some, all of the internet and technology can be traced back to a supercomputer called the beast. In Genesis 1:24, God commanded the land to produce three kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals. The serpent wasn't one of the creatures that moved on the ground. It was among the wild animals. Hence, it was a beast. In revelation, John saw a beast with seven heads and ten horns coming out of the sea. It is interesting to note that the beast from the first scene is still discussed in the last book of the Bible.

My question was, why the serpent? How does it relate to the devil?  Something that dates back to Genesis and continues through Revelation. According to Revelation 20:2, the ancient serpent represents Satan / the devil. He repeats the same in Revelation 12:9. Satan was not God but was initially an angel of God. We will see more in the upcoming chapters.
